"When We Walk" Reflection Journal

When We Walk

When we walk, we cross infinity wearing stilettos
We escape confidential abuses
We say “enough”, bodily, by exiting the room

When we walk, we, chins down, follow fathers obediently
We watch the disappearing backs of princes disappointedly
We display ourselves at auction tragically

What if we would walk toward our wants, futures we dream of and believe in when no one else will?
What if we could walk into fruition, with our vision and calling in ripe expression, manifested magnificently?
What if we should care for ourselves and others in mellow parity, with all wisdom, intuition, and magical insight divinely given to bless the world, including ourselves?

Then, when we walk, we walk in peace.

Today, being International Women's Day, I am mindful of the struggle of women throughout time and around the world to gain basic human rights. Speaking at Black Women's Network in Los Angeles this morning, I recognize the freedoms we enjoy here and now to express and empower ourselves. Yet, many of us have yet to walk into the fullness of our potential.

I want to inspire each of us to express and empower ourselves!

I wrote the poem "When We Walk" as part of a collection of poems which centers on women walking into their calling as powerful creators on the earth. The collection has yet to be published, but the reflection journal with writing prompts is now available to support you in your journey inward to discover the treasure trove of truths and wisdom just waiting to be unleashed to bless the world.

In recognition of International Women's Day, I spoke at Black Women's Network in Los Angeles today. We explored ways we can design a delightful life through love, leadership, and legacy. We embraced the importance of self-love, through nurturing our body temples, honoring our own ideas, and creating a nourishing home environment. We learned that leadership begins with being authentic in the work environment, the importance of knowing the difference between a hobby, job, career, and vocation, and that we manifest what we want by helping others get what they want. And we learned about how anyone can utilize the estate planning and planned giving tools wealthy have used for decades to build and pass generational wealth.

It was a tremendous blessing to be in community with phenomenal women who support and uplift one another.
