"The Power of Peace Prevails" at World Meditation Day Tomorrow

I’m writing to you today with a full heart and a deep sense of gratitude. Tomorrow, on World Peace Day, I have the honor of reciting an original poem entitled The Power of Peace Prevails, which the Heartfulness Institute commissioned me to write. It is a moment that feels both humbling and profoundly aligned with the work my soul has been doing for years.

This poem was born from a simple yet radical truth I keep returning to: peace on Earth does not begin in institutions or ideologies—it begins in each human heart. In a world that often feels loud, divided, and hurried, I wanted the poem to offer a pause. A breath. A remembering that our inner lives matter, and that choosing peace within ourselves is a powerful act of leadership and love.

Being invited to create and share this piece for World Peace Day feels especially meaningful because poetry has become my way of listening deeply—to myself, to others, and to what life is asking of us. To stand before a community and speak words devoted to peace feels like both a responsibility and a gift.

If you are able to attend, please join me other peace-makers who are speakers at this event tomorrow at 2 PM at the Simi Valley Public Library and share this moment together. My portion of the program is anticipated to begin at 2:50 PM and will be shared on Instagram Live at @sonyakayblakegallery. If you can’t be with us in person, know that you can direct your powerful presence and energy to the cause of peace from right where you are.

You can also continue to further this work in the world. Beginning tomorrow at 3 PM, you will be able to acquire your very own The Power of Peace Prevails poetry print. Mark your calendar for the launch.

Thank you for walking this path with me—for valuing reflection, creativity, and the quiet power of words. May peace prevail in our hearts, and may it ripple far beyond.
