The Comfort of Home

When I was a child, my parents' room was a family gathering place. We often piled onto the bed and lingered there talking and laughing together, getting tickled, and enjoying warm hugs. This morning, my three beauties piled onto the bed as I was writing, and my heart smiled as I remembered how precious and affirming these moments can be... and how important it is to set the scene where these beautiful memories are made.
And so I wrote "The Comfort of Home" as an homage to the potential of our bedrooms to be places of rest, reflection, rejuvenation, and rejoicing. It is an acrostic, with the first word of each line spelling the word bedroom, and is available in two editions, one for minimalist and another for floral decor. It is an important cornerstone of a sweet bedroom space, but not the only element. I also created a series of supporting elements, a candle, warm beverage mug, cozy throw blanket, decorative pillow, and writing journal. All of these little blessings are designed to help you create a sense of place in your bedroom to support your highest good.
For some of us, not every room in our childhood home brings pleasant memories that affirm our sense of identity and self worth. If that's the case, then it is more important than ever that we break the chords that tie us to negative associations and deliberately and intentionally design the rooms in which we wake and sleep to support the upliftment of our souls and strengthen us to go powerfully out into the world.
I hope the words of the poem will inspire you and the other supportive elements will encourage you to comfort yourself with self-care every day.
