On the Edge of Becoming

On the Edge of Becoming

I’m on the edge of becoming something great.
Of walking into the fullness of the vision.
Here. I. Am.
And all I need do next... is step. Right. Off. The. Cliff.

To enter into the free fall state where magic lives and is calling my name.
Daring me.

To jump.

I used to resist the siren's call, believing it would lead to certain death.

But each new day has showed God‘s power to protect me time and time again.

And what once presented as wisdom, gradually revealed itself as fear.
Now, God has enlarged my heart to contain the knowledge, skills, wisdom, and courage to take off and fly.

I know now that I didn’t need to spend so much time learning what doesn’t work.
I needed to gain the confidence that time and experience have gifted me.
And I have learned is that there is something much riskier and more dangerous than jumping.

Not jumping.

What do you do when you are on the edge of becoming something great?

Do you remember a time when you faced that question? In the past, that has been the moment when I have stopped in my tracks or, even worse, turned back. "Stay in familiar territory" is the slippery whisper of fear pretending to be wisdom. This voice of doubt inside of me has found expression in my dreams, in people with the best intentions trying to protect me - or themselves - but this time is different. I have heard from you. And you are listening to what I have to say.

I can go any number of ways with the treasure trove of insights and wisdom I have assembled on the subject of love - self-love, finding love, rejuvenating love, and releasing relationships when love is not enough - but which is the right way?

"If I take one more step," Samwise Gamgee says in Lord of the Rings, "it will be the farthest I've ever been from home."

I feel called to some clear movement forward:

  1. Say yes to invitations to read. I will be guest reading at two events this week. I am calling in more opportunities to share
  2. Say yes to the calling to share free content. I will be looking for ways to share more content for free. And I am open to hearing what would most bless our community
  3. Say yes to abundance. I hold a vision for the work to amplify well-being in my life and to overflow blessing onto everyone around me (so stay close)

What you do when you are on the edge of becoming? Your next step after facing that moment says a lot about you. And determines in large part how far you will go. What will it take to embolden you to take that next step?

As for me, thanks to you, I am taking that next step. The conscious creator's journey is not like having a job, where the path is cleared for you to follow. The entrepreneur's path is fraught with uncertainty, risk, and adventure. The danger is to our sense of safety, self-confidence, leisure time. The only way I can see my way clear to taking such a dangerous route, given all there is to lose, is to journey it together with other bold souls who are likewise "in the arena" as Brene Brown says and not just spectators, heckling or critiquing from the stadium seats. You get the feeling of being in a vast ocean with no discernable vision of land, but willing yourself to trust that it is there beyond the mist.

Here we go...
