Inspired by Autumn

Maybe it’s because I grew up in Connecticut, where the foliage faithfully turns to reds, golds, and the browns each year, signaling the onset of the most distinctive of the year: Autumn.
Or maybe it’s because I’m a mom of three school-age children and have been trained to anticipate the beginning of the new school year each fall, bringing the start to all sorts of activities, assignments, and friendships.
Certainly this fall is special in that it marks the launch of this poetry art gallery, which is the culmination of a few decades of sewing seeds (knowingly and unknowingly) without seeing the sprout of any seedlings, and reaping the fruit of my labor in this season. It could be one or more of these reasons, but this one thing I know…
Autumn feels like a great time for a new beginning.
And what is there to begin? Autumn is a time of gathering. We dig down deep and gather to ourselves loved ones who may have grown distant. We accumulate essential resources to sustain our needs for now and in the future. Most of all, we muster up the strength of will to embark on new beginnings and to finish things that have stalled in the process of becoming.
This Autumn will be like others in that it will once again be a season of gathering. But it will be different, because I am different. It will be a gathering season where blessings come to me effortlessly. Where things I desire just fall into my lap. And where things come to me through synchronicity. Because I have ceased from striving.
Whether you think you can, or you think you can't--you're right.
~ Henry Ford
I have learned that I can do life the hard way or the easy way, according to my mindset. This fall, I purpose to enter into the rest and allow the blessings to flow and flourish. My intention is to let the natural cycle of the seasons unfold according to its time and to be a witness as life blossoms right before my eyes.
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
~ Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 NIV
Now that the gallery has launched with the Minimalist Collection of poetry art prints, I plan to introduce a new collection of poetry art decor each season, beginning this fall with a collection of poems and prints exploring the themes inspired by Autumn.
Do stay tuned and share your contemplations below or privately if you’d like me to incorporate your ideas into the work. Let’s co-create works that will inspire, express, heal, and delight us and the world as we decorate our hearts and homes with beauty and grace.
