Elementary Identity

"Sublime" is truly the word to describe this weekend. Going from one gathering to the next with like-minded, empathetic friends just made life so sweet. The Coffee & Create artists' collective, film club, happy hour, church, book club, and Soulful Sunday gathering. Lately, I have been seeking, and basking in, the company of other conscious creatives. Inevitably, poetry results.

This poem, "Elementary Identity" was inspired today by a conversation with my new friends Chuck and Jessica. Among so many other intriguing ideas, we talked about the role of nature in human existence, which caused me to remember who I am at such a fundamental level, I was moved to write it out. And in the process of conversation, I also experienced the power of empathetic friendship to usher me into a profound sense of belonging, connectedness, and affirmation.

This is what happens in conscious community: awakening, creativity, oneness. May it always be.
