A "Happy Valentine's Day" Poem that Keeps it Real

I’m so excited to share a piece of news close to my heart. My poem “Happy Valentine’s Day” was commissioned and published in the February issue of Porter Ranch Living Magazine. This is the first of my poems that has been published in a magazine, and I couldn’t be more honored.

This poem reflects the many meanings Valentine’s Day can hold. For some, it’s romance and roses. For others, it carries memories, longing, grief, or quiet reflection. Written as an acrostic, the poem moves through these varied experiences and ultimately returns us to one essential truth: self-love is the foundation of every happily ever after.

I’m deeply grateful to Porter Ranch Living for inviting me to create a piece that meets readers where they are, exactly as they are. It’s a reminder that love isn’t one-size-fits-all—and that every heart’s story matters.

Thank you for continuing to read, share, and support my work. I do hope this Valentine's Day is all that you hope for and that you bask in divine love every day of your life.

With love,

Sonya
