A Fruitful New Year

Happy New Year!

The last two weeks of the calendar year are a great time for life visioning. You can take time off to dream about the future you want to design, knowing that everyone else is also taking time off so your inbox isn't filling up. And with the holidays that bring family together and celebrate new beginnings, there is so much inspiration to start fresh.

For me, it's also a great time to select a theme word and a wisdom passage to guide the year ahead. My word for 2025 will be...

Believe

I chose this word because I'm always starting new projects and trying new things so the one constant I continually encounter is uncertainty. In times of uncertainty, I can either follow the lead of my survival brain, which generates worst case scenarios to keep me "safe" in the realm of the familiar. Or I can lean into the mystery created by my aspiring brain, which is calling me into the realm of possibility, where I design the life I want. My intention is to hope against hope and believe my way into greater manifestations in the year ahead.

And my wisdom passage for 2025 will be...

...the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Galatians 5:22-23

This passage paints a picture of a Spirit-filled life. I want that! This reminder helps me focus my energy, attention, and prayer on these characteristics that I want to embody. I'll focus on one of these qualities each month, so that this time next year, I expect to have a richer and deeper experience of each one.

And it all begins with love

I think this may have been brewing for a while because I just happen to be producing an in-person poetry event for Valentine's Day, focusing on love, entitled Life Becomes Poetic Through Love (see below for details and click here to register). I hope you will join me in-person or via Instagram Live @sonyakayblakegallery. And please reach out to let me know what your word and/or wisdom passage for 2025 will be.

Believing for a fruitful year for us all,

Sonya
